Co-ordination of Construction Projects
The proper co-ordination of professionals and craftsmen is an essential part of your French construction project. The ‘general contractor’ does not exist here and each profession and trade will be appointed individually, including your usual architect, macon, plumber and electrician but also damp proof specialists, tilers, carpenters and many others. A moderate project may engage over 20 trades. Charles Mackintosh will co-ordinate and manage these professionals and craftsmen for you.
At the outset, a schedule of works and provisional budget are agreed with the client before obtaining and agreeing quotations from the various trades. Charles has established a directory of reliable craftsmen and professionals that he can now recommend to clients. Nevertheless, each will be checked ensuring that they are competent to undertake the work and have the correct insurance in place. Regular site meetings are held throughout the project to ensure that the work is progressing satisfactorily, in accordance with instructions and to budget.
